Council is made up of 23 members, who are accountable for the sound governance of the Society under Charity law, but also play an important role in the delivery of the Society’s Strategy, Mission, Purpose and Values.
It’s important to us that the membership of our Council reflects the diverse community it serves, and nominations from presently under-represented groups are especially welcome.

LIBRARY/ Help preserve the Society's historical letter-books!
We have recently launched Written in History, a new fundraising appeal to preserve twelve important volumes of letters from our Archives: the correspondence of the Assistant Secretary’s office of the Geological Society, 1834-1880.
To conserve these volumes will cost £40,000 and donations of any amount are welcome, from sponsoring a single letter for £10, up to conserving an entire volume. For more information about the appeal and how you can donate, please visit our website. |
